Queensland company buys alpine resorts, moves them to mainland

A company that bought and moved thousands of properties in Queensland’s Alpine region to mainland Queensland has been bought by a Chinese company and is moving them to the mainland, its chairman has said.
Rising Star Group bought and moved 22 properties — including a shopping centre near Lake Malawi — from Snowy Mountain in 2012.
Rising Star’s chairman John Pallas said in February he had concerns about the company’s “continued expansionist strategy”.
His concerns prompted Queensland Premier Campbell Newman to announce last week the company would be investigated for possible mis-management.
But Mr 우리카지노Pallas says there was no immediate impact on the company’s activity, and more than 2,000 properties have been sold or transferred to other buyers since that time.
In an interview with AM, Mr Pallas said his company was currently looking for additional buyers for these properties, as they were sold as a result of “misjudgements”.
In November the company bought the land behind Mt Eden ski lodge, after which it moved it to a ski area near the nearby town of Sumpmo.
It is believed the purchase was part of a larger planning change, which involved the removal of the old hotel from the land adjacent to Mt Eden.
Mr Pallas said his group’s decision to sell the ski resort has now helped to secure the future of Mt Eden ski area.
“I was hoping we would sell the ski business and I guess the rest of the property was gone but it’s now here and it’s just fine,” he said.
“I think the ski business is probably doing just fine now and I guess there is a lot of interest in other properties so you know I think this [the deal] could have been worse… it could have been worse.
“This whole move happened very quickly and if we hadn’t done this we probably would have been in a situation where we wouldn’t be in a position to even move these properties.”
He says he is concerned for people in rural areas 우리카지노in South West and the Northern Rivers, and for more remote communities.
“I mean these are rural communities in rural Queensland — who are being affected by this because our population is growing… and it’s a very very slow growth,” Mr바카라사이트 Pallas said.
