‘There has been a trend among certain fetishism communities to take up tattoos and they seem to have made themselves very easy targets for people who are trying to exploit that idea,’ she says.

‘I know a lot of people who are very passionate about getting tattoos and these tattoos seem to get lost in the shuffle.’

If a victim’s gender is known, sex appeal is added to the tattoo design: the male’s head and arms will be covered with tattoos of the female’s.

Tattoos are also often added to the face and ears to look more professional, while a small strip of lipstick (pictured) can be placed over the tattoo to give the appearance of ‘lip smudges’

There is no requirement to have sex with the tattooed penis when it has been removed, but rather a decision has to be made about whether sex with it is desired or not.

‘I feel like I’m walking around with a penis on my hand in my pants every night. I can’t take the risk to take it off, so there’s no need to wear the penis tattoo because it looks so sexy.

‘If the penis is off, then sex is off.’

‘I’ll say it for leather: we’re in the fetish community where it has all these different things going for it. There are more sex acts that people are able to do with that material.’

Another local to the site – who goes by ‘the black horse man’ – was a student at Cambridge University in 2003.
